Tech giant Samsung is prepping up for the release of another device that will cater to the other sectors of the population. This time, the company is rumored to release Samsung Galaxy , which is a slightly dumber version of the company's flagship phone - Samsung Galaxy S3.
A photo of a rumored smartphone from Samsung appeared online last week. The photo was tweeted from the @evleaks account with the message, "Samsung GT-I9260 (Galaxy Premier?) in the wild."
The purported photo bears a resemblance to the popular Samsung Galaxy S3 and it looks like its twin. The new Galaxy Premier is believed to lie somewhere between the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S3 in terms of price and capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S3 was released early this year and blew away the smartphone market. The flagship phone of the company wowed everyone with its supreme features such as huge screen display, fast processor, 4G/LTE connectivity and NFC support. Below is the comparison of the specs and features of the two devices.
Screen Display - Samsung Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED screen with 720x1280 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Premier, on the other hand, sports a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen display but retain its 720x1280 pixel resolution.
Processor - Samsung Galaxy Premier is powered by 1.5GHz dual core TI OMAP 4470 processor with 1GB of RAM, which is no match to the quad core Exynos processor of the Galaxy S3 clocked at 1.4 GHz.
Operating System - Samsung Galaxy S3 was released with Android's Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the Jelly Bean update already rolled out. Galaxy Premier will be unveiled with Android v4.1 Jelly Bean.
Storage - Samsung Galaxy Premier 8GB or 16GB variants with a microSD memory card slot. However, the Galaxy S3 reigns supreme with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants with microSD slot expandable storage up to 32GB.
NFC - Both devices will support Near Field Communication via S-Beam.
Camera - The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Premier is equipped with 8MP rear camera and 1.9MP front-facing camera.
Battery - Both smartphones have 2100 mAh battery.
There is no confirmation yet from Samsung and the photos did not include any specifics such as when the Galaxy Premier will be announced or whether it will be released by Google or Samsung.
